A quiet island next door
Bogø lies just west of Møn, linked to the main island by a causeway, so no separate ferry crossing is needed to reach it. Covering only a few square kilometres, the island is rural and peaceful, fields, small woods, a tidy little village and hardly any traffic. It's an easy, low-key add-on to a Møn trip for anyone who enjoys slowing right down or getting around by bike.
Windmill and history
Bogø's landmark is the well-preserved Bogø Mølle, a historic 19th-century Dutch-style windmill that is open to visitors at certain times. The island has a long tradition of seafaring and schooling, and its village, with the old school building and low-slung houses, has kept its character.
Onward by small ferry
In summer, a nostalgic little ferry runs from Bogø to Stubbekøbing on Falster, one of the last of its kind in Denmark. It's a nice way to build Bogø into a wider island-hopping route. Otherwise, the island makes a worthwhile, quiet stop on the way to or from Møn.

Fanefjord Kirke
Standing alone above the Fanefjord, this church holds the finest vaulted frescoes by the Elmelunde Master, next door lies the 102-metre Grønsalen passage grave.
Kong Asgers Høj
Denmark's largest walk-in passage grave sits in western Møn, a 5,200-year-old Stone Age burial chamber you can crawl into, free of charge.
