Møn in three days, how it works
Møn is compact, no point on the island is more than about half an hour's drive away. This route spreads the highlights sensibly across three days without rushing: one day for the dramatic east coast around Møns Klint, one day for culture and the island's main town, one day for the quiet nature reserves in the north. All times are guidelines, adjust them to your own pace and the season.
Day 1 - Møns Klint & the wild east
Start early at the GeoCenter Møns Klint: this is where the main car park is, and the exhibition sets the scene for the geology of the cliffs. From there, head down to the Klint itself, down the 497 steps to the beach, if your legs are up for it. After a lunch break comes the idyllic manor house Liselund, before a woodland loop through Høje Møn rounds off the day.
Day 2 - Churches, culture & Stege
The second day belongs to the famous chalk-painted churches: Elmelunde and Keldby in the morning, the splendid Fanefjord Kirke in the afternoon, plus the Stone Age burial mound Kong Asgers Høj to the west. In between, wander through Stege, with its town gate, old town and harbour.
Day 3 - Nature in the north
To finish, head into the quiet north: Ulvshale, with its forest and shallow beach, and the car-free bird island of Nyord. If you're still up in the evening and the sky is clear, don't miss the Dark Sky Park, a night sky like few others.
